Take the Train to the Beach

The beach is the ‘backyard’ of the Haarlem citizens. Many grab their bikes and take the Zeeweg via Overveen to Bloemendaal aan Zee.

If you want to be there faster, just take the train and you’ll be at the station of Zandvoort aan Zee within a mere ten minutes.

You’ll ride straight through the beautiful Kennemer dunes and you’ll feel the sea approaching.

The train to Zandvoort aan Zee is an outing in and of itself. It departs once every half hour (four times an hour in the summer). Once you’re past the Overveen train station, you’ll see the beautiful Kennemer dunes rush by and you’ll feel the sea coming closer. After just a few heartbeats, you’ll be at the Zandvoort aan Zee station. From here, you’ll walk to the boulevard in just a few minutes where you’ll find one great beach bar after the other.

Recommended: Ubuntu Beach, Hippie Fish, Tent 6 and Safari Lodge.

Hey, did you know?

Just like on every beach, the sea leaves quite a few things behind on the beach in Zandvoort aan Zee. In the freely accessible Juttersmu-ZEE-um (Strandweg 21, building de Rotonde), you can see what beachcombers find at the beach.
